Choosing an Instrument

Students often have an initial preference for a particular instrument for a number of personal reasons, and are generally able to start on the one that they want.

In some cases physical characteristics (hand size, arm length, dental concerns, asthma, teeth alignment, lip size and formation, etc.) may make one instrument a better choice over another.  The instrumental teacher can usually evaluate any major concerns, but there is no absolute answer for future success.  Students may change to another instrument if necessary during the initial four month trial period, or at any time thereafter.
